Exhibition: Visiting Home

Exhibition: Visiting Home

About the Exhibition

It is a collection of a nostalgic venture into a distant place that once home, and exploring its unique social-cultural identity with a "curious-see", and exploring faith in black and white. This collection consists of eighteen original digital canvas exhibit photo prints, with hanging loops, dowels top and bottom, and influence from the artist's early training in traditional Chinese painting.

About the Artist: Sonja Ng

Sonja is a self-taught photo artist, mentored by the late Mr. Wing-Chung Lee (李榮中) of Hong Kong in traditional Chinese and Western Art and later disciplined in Signs Graphics Designs and Production. She has reinvented herself as a mixed-media photo artist. Her B/W photographic work explores various light-shade-shape relationships among the natural environment and man-made elements; her mixed media artwork seeks a convergence between the East/West art disciplines, and between the painted, printed, and photographic mediums.

She has been exhibiting her work since 2016 at various art shows, galleries, and museums in Southern Ontario. Sonja was born a proud British Subject/Hong Konger, and a proud Canadian since university. She now lives the creative dream - cultivating and photographing the land, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, splashing paint in the studio, and fabricating metal in the garage - in Bolton, Ontario.
