The CHKL Research Café will host its first meeting of the school year on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 11 am to 1 pm. During this session, Yating LIAO (PhD Student, Department of Anthropology, University of Toronto) and Roland CHENG (PhD Student, Department of Geography & Planning, University of Toronto) will present their research. Yating will discuss her work titled 'Production of Rings and Slit Rings in Prehistoric Hong Kong,' while Roland will present his work titled 'Queer(ing) Pragmatic Resistance: Spaces of Consumption and Commoning as Alternative Resistance of Queers in Hong Kong.' There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion following their presentations.
The Research Café is an initiative based at the Richard Charles Lee Canada-Hong Kong Library, aiming to unite scholars interested in Hong Kong-related research to encourage scholarly exchange and promote multidisciplinary dialogue.
